I always marveled at the art work in NYC. This book brings back those memories.A wonderful addition to my art library.I also do some colored pencil sketching an I will try tracing and coloring some of these plates.
As promised
I bought this book sight unseen, after hearing a positive review on the radio. I guess the reasonable price should have warned me that the book was small and the excellent sketches without color.
I love Mr Coppola’s renderings of the beautiful mosaics found throughout the N.Y. Subway system. This book is an affordable, accessible way to own and study his work. I found it very inspirational; I brought a sketchbook with me in my recent trip out of town to record my own impressions of my surroundings (unfortunately mine are not as beautiful or accurate as Mr Coppola’s!)
Wow - a beautifully illustrated book, very detailed look at individual subway-stop designs. For people who love NYC.
