very nice bible, and I love the images and organization. I can't think of a negative thing to say.
So excited for the release of My Creative Bible KJV! I have the pink imitation leather cover, and I love it! The cover is soft, yet durable. There are ALOT of pictures and scripts to color. It's a simply beautiful book. The pages are just a bit thicker than a typical Bible page, but it's still thin. I don't have the technical lingo to describe page thickness, so I'll just say it's thin, but very much workable for coloring and journaling. I decided to test my Tutti Frutti and Totally Taffy scented gel pens and (surprisingly) they didn't bleed through! I plan to also color with colored pencils. I love this book! The pictures range from simple, hand-drawn sketches to more ornate illustrations. This would make an awesome gift. I plan to use this as a coloring Bible, but would make a great journaling Bible where you may use the pictures as a starting point for more elaborate craft/personal journaling/art. If you love adult coloring books, Bible journaling, you'll love this! I've attached several pics.
I absolutely love my Creative Bible! It's great to study the word and the beautiful illustrated pictures to decorate plus pages to journal or add artwork. It is beautifully made, the cover is stunning with the intricate details. The cover is not cheap feeling, I love the way it's made so that it stays clean or can be wiped off easily after journaling. It lays flat to do artwork and will stay out when coloring, painting or doing designs. The price is wonderful. I have two other journaling Bible's and the print in this one is a larger (not by a whole lot- but it helps!) I love the single column and 2 inches of journaling/art work space.
I ordered two of these bibles one for myself and one for my mom. They just came in yesterday evening and I absolutely love it. It is absolutely beautiful, and I can't wait to start coloring in the art in it and drawing my own art and making notes and making it my own. I did take it to my local Christian bookstore to have my name put on it and they told me they weren't able to do my name on it but I still love it so much. If you are thinking about getting a journaling bible I would highly suggest this one
First off, I am so pleased this is my beloved King James. I'm not one who likes to make marks on the text block so I appreciate the extra wide margin.The binding is superb. It's a sewn binding that lays open nicely. I do not like to see glued bindings on Bibles. The covers are nice and hefty as well. In shape, the bible is nearly square which I like and it's pretty thick which adds to the charm. The roses printed on the edges on the closed pages are especially beautiful.The artwork is focused on the scripture and consists mostly of decorated quotations which is another thing I love about this Bible. It reminds me of the 'illuminations'(illustrations and decorated letters) of ancient bibles. It's a modern take but as I fill in the artwork what I will have is an illuminated Bible. I have already added artsy renderings of my own of favorite verses.Colored pencils are perfect. The artwork is printed in dark gray as opposed to solid black which looks beautiful with colored pencil. I put card stock under the pages I'm working on. I hung onto the 'sleeve' that was around the back cover to use for this purpose.I've gotten good results with Pigma Micron markers as long as I do not let the nib sit in one place and keep it moving and do not draw over marks I've already made. The Microns are best for hatch or line filling not 'coloring in'.
I love it! The cover feels durable, a bit of a grippy texture, which is great so it doesn't slide around while coloring in it. I do wish the pages were a bit thicker but overall the thickness is ok. Colored pencils are definitely the way to go, a good quality so you don't have to press as hard. It would be a great gift for many age groups. I'm 30 and I plan to use it mostly after kids are in bed to unwind and to write notes/journal things for my children to read when they are older. I'm so excited this was put together!
I reviewed several "note-taking" bibles and decided to purchase this one. My search criteria was: KJV, single column, ample margin space to write beside versus (preferably with lines), preferably with Jesus' words in red, paper easy on the eyes and not too thin as to tear, and would lay flat. I didn't necessarily need it to have artwork, but if it did it couldn't be all "flowers." Although not 100% ideal, this bible checked off the most items on my list.PROSSingle-column with enough room to write notes on lined margins on "most" pagesPaper is a soft cream and not too thinFont size is adequate (not this it not a "large print" bible)Lays flat with av hard cover will protect the pages, cover has a soft feel to it that is enjoyable to touchArtwork is beautiful throughout, on the cover (front, back, sides), and on the book edges - very different "types" of artwork throughout and not the same "theme/category"This will be fun to color in!CONSWish artwork in the margins didn't take up entire side, doesn't leave much (if any) room to write notes, some 2-page spreads even have artwork in the margins on both pagesWorried about cover getting dirty and how to clean itNo extras - maps, concordance, etc. (but in fairness, that was not why I purchased it)Jesus' words not in red letterPages aren't so thin they will tear easily but artwork is very easily seen on the reverse side even when not colored inWish the margins were wider to be able to write more notes but that would have made the book much thickerAll in all, I think I will be happy with my purchase. Now to begin the process of transferring all my cramped notes written in all sorts of directions in my old, tiny bible to this one...
