When her country is invaded by an evil magic user and his armies of both magic users and 'normals', Rakel finds that she cannot abandon her people.A classic tale of good vs evil, this book was simply amazingly good. I totally adore Rakel & Farrin. Adversaries, Farrin even before he meets Rakel has already been quite taken with the beauty of her magical signature - one of purity "the minty flavour of her magic".I would label this story as romantic fantasy rather than fantasy romance, even though there more than enough romance to satisfy the romance diehards (of which I confess to be one). & yes I did go back and re-read the "good parts". I love this author's style. The romance is woven beautifully into the overall storyline - which has just about everything. Action (think The Hobbit and battle of the 5 armies but better), a fantastic cast of characters, humour and tender emotion. Clean and a very sweet and poignant romance.A definite keeper. Highly recommended.
I absolutely loved this set. K.M. Shea is a master storyteller and brings this fairy tale up to a new and higher standard. The world she created was rich and full of detail that helps you to see it well. The characters tug your heartstrings and never let go. The third book in the trilogy is filled with shorts that give even deeper nuances to the characters you meet in the first two books. It adds an even deeper understanding of their quirks. I do recommend this and all of Shea's books. Her way with words will not disappoint you in the least bit.
This is a fun series. Shea's story's are always a different twist on a story you have heard before. Her books are sweet and I recommend them for younger readers.
I already owned all 3 books but the collection was to hard to pass up!!!! I love all of km ahead books but timeless fairy tales are my favorite
I really enjoyed reading this series. The growth of the characters, the romance, the suspense, the action are all very well written.
The beginning of a wonderful series! Great stories and characters. It’s neat seeing how each book ties in with each other. Wonderful author! Kept writing and I’ll keep reading!
